This year will be thirty-four years that I have been around this thing called radio. I started helping out some of the smaller radio stations in my hometown back in 1987. The very first radio station I worked for was WNBN, it was a locally owned Gospel station in the city of Meridian. I used to go in and help sort the records and I also worked fill-ins for those who didn't show up for work. Yes, that was definitely a thing back then.

Fast- Forward and I moved on to another station in the city and this is where I really got the chance to work on my craft. Whether it was deejaying the high school dances or setting up remotes, I got the chance to work around some talented people who really helped me to become the person that I am today. I eventually was doing my own morning show and eventually moved on to be the number one night DJ in Columbus, Mississippi. At the time I was working with my mentor Steve Poston, this gentleman knew radio like the back of his hand and would sit down and work with me to make sure I knew the ins and out of the business.

This led to me getting my first opportunity to Program what would become the number one radio station in Lake Charles and the station we all know as 107 Jamz. This is where Erik Tee really became a voice of radio in Lake Charles and learned, even more, the importance of working with the community and local organizations to help create events and opportunities. So on this day, I want to honor all of the DJs out there with National DJ Day, whether you are in the clubs keeping the vibes going or whether you are holding down a radio show or even producing commercials on the radio. Everybody plays a part and I am happy to be a part of this brotherhood.

LOOK: 50 famous memes and what they mean

With the infinite number of memes scattered across the internet, it's hard to keep track. Just when you've grasped the meaning of one hilarious meme, it has already become old news and replaced by something equally as enigmatic. Online forums like Tumblr, Twitter, 4chan, and Reddit are responsible for a majority of meme infections, and with the constant posting and sharing, finding the source of an original meme is easier said than done. Stacker hunted through internet resources, pop culture publications, and databases like Know Your Meme to find 50 different memes and what they mean. While the almost self-replicating nature of these vague symbols can get exhausting, memes in their essence can also bring people closer together—as long as they have internet access.
