Construction on the biggest Buc-ee's in the world will begin on November 16 in Luling, Texas. New Braunfels, Texas has the biggest Buc-ee's at 66,335-square-foot. But not for long! Don Wasek and Arch "Beaver" Aplin opened the first Buc-ee's store in 1982 in Clute, Texas. This year they celebrate their 40th anniversary and since 2019 they've built a gas station superstore in nearly every southern state, except Louisiana.

In honor of the big 4-0, they are not only going to build the biggest Buc-ee's in the world, but they are going back home. Friday, November 4, 2022, Stan Beard Buc-ee's Director of Real Estate said at a news conference “Beaver and Don’s pioneering concept of the Buc-ee’s family travel center debuted in Luling 20 years ago.” Beard continued “As we continue to share the Buc-ee’s experience with the rest of the country, we are grateful for the opportunity to deepen our Lone Star roots and to keep our flagship, and the largest Buc-ee’s ever, in Luling.”

The forthcoming mega convenience store will replace the current Luling location that was built 19 years ago in 2003. The new spot will be built at 10070 along I-10. This baby is going to be colossal at more than 75,000 square feet, with 120 pumps and even more space for plenty of shopping!
