Rush Hour 4 Headed To Theaters – Tha Wire
Today in Tha Wire, it's hard to believe, but it's been 10-years since we've seen Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan in a film together. Rush Hour 3 came out in 2007. I thought it was really good, but overall RH3 got so-so reviews and reportedly did make much money. The flick took approximately $140 million to make, but only made $248 million worldwide by the time it closed-out at the box office. So would imagine that had a lot to do with why, talk of another sequel was out of the question back then.
During the NBA All-Star Weekend recap on The Plug Podcast, Tucker revealed that not only was a Rush Hour 4 coming, but they are currently shooting the movie as we speak! Of course the comedy/acting legend didn't give-up much more than that. However, he did say that Jackie will also be back. So it's on and poppin!
For now there's no premiere date, and no trailer. As always I'll keep you posted with more details, as soon as they're available. Meanwhile peep a recent interview Chris talking about the upcoming film below.
Since we're on the subject of sequels, it's been 13-years since Mike Lawry, and Marcus Burnett road the streets of the M.I.A in Bad Boys II. Unlike RH3, the last installment in the Bad Boys series did extremely well at the box office. According to reports the budget was $130 million, and raked in $273.3 million worldwide. The sequel has been pushed back several times, with the January 2018 premiere being the latest. The good news is, there'll be a part III & IV! They just haven't nailed down any dates, just that BB3 is slated to hit theaters sometime in 2019.
By the way, they changed the name. The third instalment is Bad Boys For Life, and everyone including Gabrielle Union is coming back. Below take a look at more details courtesy of IMdb:
I'll keep my ear to the streets on all of the above, and push you the scoop as soon I learn more. By the way....there's been a lot of chatter about a Martin reboot. First let me say, I'm glad Martin Lawrence and Tisha Campbell-Martin have patched up their differences. TMZ actually caught up to all three Martin stars this week. Martin, Tisha and Tichina Arnold were all together, walking out of Morton's Steakhouse in Burbank, when TMZ's camera crew stopped them for a quick chat.
The fact that they were all together, is suspect and adds fuel to the notion, Martin is coming back. Their behavior was also interesting as the Z crew pushed for confirmation about a reboot of the iconic TV sitcom. Peep how that went below:
