The story of Remy Hidalgo, the Denham Springs High School student who died during football practice last week has tugged at so many heartstrings. One of those being Tyrion Davis-Price, a running back with the LSU Tigers. The LSU football player has dedicated his performance to Hidalgo during the season opener on Saturday.

Price tweeted late Monday about how he will honor Hidalgo. In his tweet, he said, “After talking to one of his parents they told me how much he loved LSU football so I’m going to make sure I give you a show.”

According to The Advocate, Hidalgo was a junior lineman for the Yellow Jackets. On Tuesday, he collapsed during football practice and was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital, then airlifted to Children’s Hospital of New Orleans on Wednesday. The junior lineman for the Yellow Jackets, died early Friday morning in New Orleans, according to a social media post made by his mother, Ashley Roberson. A post we all shed a tear over when we saw it shared on social media.

To honor Hidalgo during the LSU season opener is such a kind and loving gesture from Tyrion Davis-Price. We look forward to seeing the “show”.

The game is Saturday in Tiger Stadium against Mississippi State. It starts at 2:30 pm.
