Louisiana Lottery Reveals Two More Big Money Winners

Lottery players in Louisiana have really been cashing in on the two multi-state lottery games, Powerball and Mega Millions, that are available for play in the state. In fact, just days after a Louisiana convenience store sold a $1,000,000 winner in the Mega Millions game, it was announced the same location had sold yet another big money winner.

Lottery players in Louisiana have claimed big money prizes in two of the last three drawings for Mega Millions and Powerball. Lottery officials announced that a ticket sold for Tuesday's Mega Millions game was worth $30,000 and a ticket sold for Wednesday's Powerball game was worth $100,000 this morning.

Let's look at each of these drawings separately. First, here are the numbers that were drawn for the August 2nd Mega Millions Game.

The numbers drawn for August 2nd according to the Mega Millions website were:

10   14   25   37   63   Mega Ball 14  Megaplier x3

No single ticket matched all the numbers needed to claim the game's top prize of $20 million but a ticket sold in Pennsylvania matched all the white ball numbers and they had invoked the Megaplier option so that ticket is worth $3 million.

In Louisiana, a $30,000 Mega Millions winner was sold in Port Allen at Circle K 2706805 located on the Lobdell Highway. That ticket matched four of the white balls, the Mega Ball, and the ticket purchaser opted for the Megaplier option.

Coincidentally, that is the same Circle K store that sold a $1,000,000 winner for Mega Millions in last Friday's $1.2 billion dollar drawing. That ticket was one of eight tickets sold in the state for that drawing that can lay claim to a prize of $10,000 or more.

Meanwhile, in last night's Powerball drawing another Louisiana lottery player cashed in big. But not as big as a single-ticket holder in Pennsylvania. That Pennsylvania ticket matched all the numbers necessary to claim the $202 million dollar jackpot.   Here is the drawing in case you missed it.

The numbers selected according to the Powerball website were:

The big winner in Louisiana can lay claim to  $100,000. According to the Lottery's website, the Louisiana winner was purchased at Red Zone Magazine on Magazine Street in New Orleans. The ticket purchaser matched four of the five white balls, the Powerball, and the player opted-in for the Powerplay option.

So, here is where we stand with Powerball and Mega Millions and the jackpots after this flurry of winning activity. The next multi-state lottery game drawing will be on Friday night. It will be in the Mega Millions game the estimated jackpot is $36 million.

Since Powerball just got a win last night, that jackpot will reset to $20 million dollars and the next drawing will take place on Saturday night. Both games feature their drawings at 9:59 Louisiana time on their respective draw dates, by rule ticket sales must cease at least one hour before the drawing occurs.
