Head to Louisiana Downs Casino & Racetrack to celebrate Labor Day on Monday, September 5! They have a family-friendly day planned for all ages beginning at 11 a.m. Enjoy plenty of goodies provided by food trucks, fun activities including bounce houses, live music by the house DJ, and a community blood drive.

Get yourself a good seat and watch the annual Weiner Dog Races with adorable Dashound action starting at 12 noon. There will be several preliminary heats leading up to the championship race at 2 p.m.

Don't miss all the excitement! By the way, this fun-filled Weiner race isn't just about cute doggies running around a track. Proceeds from the Dashound competition will help save the lives of fellow animals looking for a forever home at the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana.

In addition, Bossier Press reports Louisiana Downs will host its Annual Charity Golf Tournament set for Thursday, September 15. This event will benefit Winner's Circle Church and Chaplain Jimmy Sistrunk, who in turn lends a helping hand to the Louisiana Downs racing community and backstretch workers.

The Charity Golf Tournament will take place at the Northwood Hills Golf Club in Shreveport, LA. featuring a Four-person scramble that kicks off at 10:00 a.m. with tee off at 10:30 a.m. The donation is $80 per person or $320 for a four-person team and will cover green fees, a golf cart, lunch, and a t-shirt/cap.
