Louisiana voters will have 10 days to vote early in the 2020 presidential election (Nov.3, 2020). Voters can head to the polls to vote in person from 8:00am - 7:00pm from October 16 - October 2  to cast their ballots. Please note, many precincts and polling locations in SWLA have been relocated due to hurricane damage. Other voting locations have been moved to bigger venues in anticipation of large voter turnout and to adhere to CDC COVID-19 social distancing protocols.

If your area was affected by Hurricanes Laura and Delta, check with your Registrar of Voters Office to find out if voting sites have been relocated or not. For more details or to contact the Registrar of Voters in your area, see the Louisiana Registrar of Voters registry. Early voting:

  • Lake Charles - Exhibition Hall at the Lake Charles Civic Center
  • Moss Bluff - Calcasieu Parish Library
  • Sulphur - Sulphur Law Enforcement Building

Take a moment to see what's on your ballot before going to the polls. There are several state constitutional amendments in this election (see an easy breakdown here). Finally, this is a historic moment in American history and lines may been long depending on where and when you vote. Be prepared to wait, wear comfortable shoes, bring a bottle of water, or even a lawn chair. Whatever you do, wear a mask a protect yourself.
