Shaking Out the Good Stuff – American Legion Post 69
Today the Shaking Out the Good Stuff spotlight from Morton Salt's Week's Island Facility shines proudly on American Legion Post 69. That group has always had a lot to be proud of but on this Monday morning, there is a special feeling of accomplishment at that post.
The mission of American Legion Post 69 is not that different from the mission of any other post of the American Legion around the country. Quite simply they are here to:
help provide services to veterans and their families who need them.
Most of the time the missions of American Legion Post 69 fly under the radar but this morning we have a story that we wanted to share with you via the Shaking Out the Good Stuff platform.
Last week the leaders at American Legion Post 69 reached out to you and to me for help. They needed money to pay for funeral expenses for a Korean War Veteran who passed away earlier this month at the age of 92. Without additional funding that veteran, Joseph Henry of New Iberia, might not have been laid to rest next to his beloved wife.
Fortunately for Mr Henry and his family, the American Legion brought his story to the people. And the people of Acadiana raised the money needed to cover the cost of Mr. Henry's final arrangements. You can read more about that story here.
And if your group, club, or organization is doing amazing things for our amazing community Morton Salt would like to share your spotlight and make it brighter. Shaking Out the Good Stuff is a weekly feature from Morton Salt that highlights what's good in our community and who is giving back to make it better.
They also have great jobs for those looking to improve their current employment situation. You can earn "offshore money" but still sleep at home every night with Morton Salt. Find out details on potential job opportunities here.
