Louisiana’s Mondo Duplantis Got More Than a Gold Medal in Paris
Folks around the city of Lafayette, Louisiana have known about the talents of Mondo Duplantis for some time now. His pole vaulting skills served him quite well while he was attending Lafayette High School. From there, he took his talents to Baton Rouge and LSU. Soon after that Mondo's story and his future began a meteoric rise in the world of international track and field.
Many of you have asked, "Why doesn't Mondo compete for America"? That's a good question. Your answer is right here. Now that we've cleared that up and you've figured out that Mondo competes for the country of Sweden in international events we can focus on what happened at the Olympics in Paris on Monday.
It was not a shocker at all that Mondo Duplantis won the gold medal in the men's pole vault. He was the odds-on favorite and NBC Olympics Host Mike Tirico even suggested that if you were going to place a bet on the outcome of one Olympic event, the men's pole vault and Mondo Duplantis would have been that bet.
Yeah, Mondo is pretty darn good at pole vaulting but it was after the fact that so many of you had questions. Not only about Duplantis but the U.S. Swim team and the U.S. gymnastics teams.
