Open Registration – EMT Classes On Texas College Campuses
With an ever-growing population in Texas, paramedics are critical and are often the initial protectors of public safety during emergencies. They have the training and expertise to handle the effects of disasters and crises, provide medical care, and often prevent further harm or death.
This is why Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) workers are always in high demand. Another reason is the need to replace these first responders quickly when they transfer to different occupations or retire. Paramedics are essential, and if you want to start a career as an EMT, register for fall training sessions today.
The National EMS Academy offers this two-part training course, EMT I and EMT II, in partnership with South Louisiana Community College and the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service. Some classes are also offered virtually through instructor-led training. Some other organizations that teach EMS courses in Texas include.
NEMSA/Acadian Ambulance will instruct this course at a nationally accredited EMS training facility authorized by the American Heart Association Training Center for CPR And ECC courses. Students wanting to become a nationally registered EMT must meet the following criteria and requirements:
- Be 16 or older to take the class and 18 or older to take the national exam.
- Education level - High School, GED or HiSET
- Trainees must complete Online Course Content: 25 days (100 hours).
- Trainees must complete up to 98 hours of the Skills Instruction and Practice.
- Trainees must complete (2) Ambulance Clinical Time: 12-hour shifts.

Once EMT students graduate and pass their National Registry exam, they will be eligible to join the company and begin their medical careers immediately! Enroll today at a nationally accredited EMS training facility at colleges in one of the following Texas cities:
- Austin
- Beaumont
- Dallas
- Houston
- San Antonio
