National Black Voter Day was the third Friday in September. So, Happy National Black Voter Day! FYI, BET and the National Urban League want you to reclaim your voice, power, and your vote. There is a reason some forces are working so hard to limit, marginalize, and even deny access to voting for all people of color. One thing you can be sure of, it's not because voting doesn't matter.

Quite the contrary. It is because there is so much power in voting. Today is a celebration of that power and a reminder that it is our responsibility to use it. Black Voters Matter wants to encourage voters of color to stay engaged and for the 4th year in a row, announced the "Reclaim Your Vote" Campaign partnership with BET and the National Urban League. Cliff Albright and LaTosha Brown, co-founders of Black Voters Matter said,

“We are excited to partner for a fourth year with BET on the Reclaim Your Vote campaign. Partnerships like this help to energize our communities by keeping civic responsibility top of mind." Adding. "As we prepare for 2024, we must seize this opportunity to build power on the local level by encouraging people to get out and vote in local and statewide elections.”

This is a call to action for all communities of color to increase voter participation and awareness. National Voter Registration Day is September 19, the country's largest single-day voter registration drive. Make it count! The "Reclaim Your Vote" Campaign extends through November 18, 2023, with a focus on seven core states: Louisiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

TAKE A MOMENT AND REGISTER TO VOTE, NOW!

The campaign's initiative will provide voters with a digital resource center that will include a one-stop shop for key voter info. There will be on-the-ground and online events throughout the election season with BET on-air talent.

Brittany Packnett Cunningham, Vice President, of Social Impact, BET Media Group said of the partnership,  BET, just like at Black Voters Matter, we are invested in Black and Brown people thriving – and so much of it begins at the ballot box.” Find out more about the Reclaim Your Vote campaign, HERE
