However, most of those locations will not see a return to service. The liquidator, TAGeX Brands, announced Monday that they were contracted to sell the equipment in 48 of the locations closing. They will be holding auctions and the winner will receive the "entire contents of the Red Lobster location they bid on."

Bloomburg is reporting that Red Lobster has been considering Chapter 11 bankruptcy to help restructure their debt. Apparently, the company has lost millions of dollars with their "ultimate endless shrimp" promotion. It was designed to draw customers into their restaurants, however, the promotion exceeded their expectations...but not in a good way.

My family loves Red Lobster, we have been to the Beaumont, TX and Baton Rouge, LA locations many times.  In fact, some times we'll drive to Beaumont to eat at Red Lobster and come back home just to gorge on their biscuits.  We'll order entrees as well, but those biscuits have been divinely inspired.

More closings could come in the near future, if and when the company does file for bankruptcy.
