
Lake Charles, Louisiana Church Hosts Food Pantry For Residents Without SNAP Benefits
(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - A local church in Lake Charles is hosting a food pantry for SWLA residents that are without SNAP benefits.
Christian World Ministries holds the food pantry every first Saturday of each month.

KPLC is reporting that the food pantry has been running for 20 years, however, demand is now at an all-time high with the federal government shutdown.
Christian World Ministries is a Second Harvest Food Bank partner and has over 20 volunteers working to help feed families in need in SWLA.

Pastor Jerry Snider told KPLC:
I believe we are blessed to be a blessing and everything that we do. I believe that Jesus said you do this for the least of these you do this under me and so again we could not do this without the heart of this community.
Paster Hope Snider added that she sees the traffic increasing at their pantry and that it will only get busier heading into the holiday seasons.
Christian World Ministries helped over 300 people this last Saturday, handing out bags of food with items like canned goods, frozen items, dairy. and produce.
