Why Louisiana Residents Put Dryer Sheets In A Mailbox?

We are aware that not all of the bothersome insects that lurk about our houses are quite harmless, and that they come with warmer temperatures. You already know that there will be a lot of flying pests in your yard if you reside in Louisiana.

Because they are more than just cruel or bothersome, certain bugs are not as welcome as others. Among the worst insects in nature are wasps and yellowjackets. Heck, some are even referred to as "Killer" due to its aggressive and poisonous nature.

Most mail carriers already have to put forth a lot of effort and walk miles every day. I'm going to leave whatever it is if they take care to avoid getting stung when they place their hand in my mailbox because they only have to worry about handing us our mail.

It seems that dryer sheets release a smell that stinging insects like bees, hornets, and wasps dislike. They are repelled by the scent's potency, which, when present in a closed mailbox, makes the entire space smell like a clean load of laundry.

Additional Uses for Dryer Sheets If these sheets are effective at keeping bugs out of your mailbox, can they also keep bugs off of you? The short answer is that it depends.

Goaptive reports "Although dryer sheets haven’t been officially proven to repel mosquitoes, their effectiveness hasn’t been disproven, either. It’s possible these common household items are a successful mosquito-repellant." So it's worth a try if you're out doing yard work, just stick some dryer sheets in the collar of your shirt. Stay safe this spring and summer.
