Texans Are Told To Immediately Throw Away Possible Deadly Cheese
You should be cautious while consuming some cheeses in Texas since they may have a dangerous infection.
What Cheese is Contaminated?
According to a recent Newsweek article, certain Cream Cheese products that are sold in Texas have been contaminated with Salmonella. Texas is just one of two states in the southwest of the United States and one of several states impacted by the spread (get it?).
The products affected are:
- Whipped Cream Cheese Spread, with UPC 4099100101881
- Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread, with UPC 4099100101751
- Cream Cheese Spread, with UPC 4099100101737
- Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread, with UPC 4099100101744
If you come across any of these products in your home, you should definitely avoid using them and throw them out right once. Although there haven't been any reports of illnesses linked to the poisoning, users should still exercise caution.
What is Salmonella?
The most prevalent cause of food poisoning in the US is salmonella, a bacterial illness that affects the intestines. Diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach pains are the most common symptoms, while some people who get the condition don't have any.
Although drinking tainted water can also spread the illness, undercooked food is the main way that it is caught. Fortunately, people who get salmonella normally recover in a few days without the need for special medicine, so you'll just have to wait it out if you have Salmonella illness.
