Where SWLA Schools Land in 2025 State Rankings
(KNGT-FM) - Want to know where your school stacks up against the rest of Southwest Louisiana and the State as a whole? U.S. News & World Report recently released its rankings of high schools across Louisiana, giving us a look at where schools in Southwest Louisiana stand compared to others statewide.
Louisiana high school students are assessed in core subjects, including English, math, science, and social studies, through the Louisiana Educational Assessment Program (LEAP). To graduate, they must pass certain end-of-course exams, such as English, and earn enough credits for a diploma. According to the Louisiana Department of Education, students can choose between a Career Diploma, which requires 23 credits, or a College Diploma, which requires 24 credits.
