Pat Sajak’s Departure: End Of An Era For ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Fans
Well if you are like me and grew up in the 80's and 90's...That's in the 1900's for you younger kids, Then a little piece of your childhood is going away. Gathering in the living room and watching The Wheel of Fortune was a staple at my house, growing up without cable T.V. we only had 3 channels so you had better believe that Wheel of Fortune was one of our favorites.
In a special interview footage aired with "Good Morning America," Pat Sajak expressed his satisfaction at the end of his tenure on the Wheel of Fortune and expressed that he is "enjoying" his last week. In June 2023, he declared that the 41st season of the show will be his final one.
"This was nearly a year ago when it was first revealed. I've had time to adjust to it, so to speak".
Pat Sajak told his daughter
"And it's been a little bit wistful and all that, but I'm enjoying it and taking it all in and reflecting on the great run."
Sajak, in partnership with his well-known television colleague Vanna White, has spent more than forty years testing wheel spinners on fill-in-the-blank sentences.
It was revealed that Ryan Seacrest would take over as host a few weeks after Sajak said he was leaving the show.
Sajak expressed his gratitude for the show's continued success throughout the years.
"At some point, we developed into something more than just a hit program. We were absorbed into the mainstream. More significantly, we started to interact with individuals. And that has been incredibly satisfying".
Pat Sajak stated that he wanted to concentrate on other things even though he could likely carry on hosting the popular culture staple.
You've heard me say this dozens of times, I've always said to you. Pat Sajak remarked, "I'd rather depart a few years too early than a few years too late. "It's been a great 40 years, and I'm looking forward to whatever's ahead."
Pat Sajak teased his daughter about how he would like to play with his future grandchildren in his newfound leisure time. If it simply means that I can play with my grandchildren and keep working on my crossword puzzles, then I'm happy as can be." Give me a hint, please. No demands made."
This Friday, June 7, at ABC, Sajak's last episode hosting "Wheel of Fortune" will premiere. The episode and the season 41 finale of "Wheel of Fortune" will air simultaneously.
