LSU Defense Loses Key Player For The Rest Of The 2024 Season
The LSU football team and LSU fans took a collective deep breath on Saturday when they witnessed one of LSU's best defensive players and a player considered one of the best in the country on the field injured.
This past Saturday during the afternoon game, LSU took on UCLA in Baton Rouge. The player we are talking about is Harold Perkins Jr., originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, and is held in high regard in college football and dubbed one of the country's best defensive college football players.
During the fourth quarter, LSU's Perkins went to make a tackle when he injured his right knee. He lay on the field while trainers and coaches came out to check on him. He was helped off the field and put into the medical tent.
LSU continued on the game beating UCLA 34-17. Even though they won the game, they lost one of their best players and one of the leaders on its defense. It was learned on Sunday that Harold Perkins Jr. tore his ACL and LSU announced that the junior linebacker would be out for the rest of the 2024 season.
Perkins was currently ranked as the number two linebacker slated to be picked in the 2025 NFL draft but that may change if Perkins can't return this season.
Next up for the Tigers, they will host South Alabama this Saturday night in Baton Rouge. The game has a 6:45 pm kickoff time and the game will be televised on the SEC Network.
