Here in Louisiana, we love our festivals. July and August are the months that it seems we have the most festivals in Southwest Louisiana. Already this month, we have had the Cajun Food and Music Festival, the Coushatta Crossroads Festival, and coming up this weekend in the Marshland Festival inside the Lake Charles Event Center.

Right out of the gate in August, the Cameron Fishing Festival will take place in Cameron, Louisiana. It is set for Thursday, August 1st through Saturday, August 3rd, 2024. On Thursday night, the first day of the fishing competitions will begin with the offshore fishing competition.

Then on Friday not only do more fishing competitions start but so does the festival complete with food, auctions, fishing competitions, and great live music. This is the festival's 20th year so you know they have a lot of events and fun things planned to celebrate 20 years of the festival.

Friday, August 2nd's events get underway starting at 12:01 am with the Bay fishing competition. The rest of Friday's events goes like this:
