If you live in Lake Charles or around Southwest Louisiana and have driven in Lake Charles, chances are you have seen the crazy amount of traffic on the roadways lately. It seems that if you drive down any of the main roads in Lake Charles like Ryan Street, McNeese Street, Nelson Road, Lake Street, and others, you will be stuck in a traffic jam.

Have you noticed that some traffic lights are the longest ones ever to sit at or the lights change so quickly that only four or five cars can get through a green light before it abbruply changes back to red? Sometimes it can take you three or four cycles of the light before you can even get through the intersection.

We asked Lake Charles residents what they thought were the longest or quickest red lights in the city or what is that one intersection you dread to have to drive through and we can say, you were dead on. As we drove through the areas you pointed out, we found ourselves stuck at lights for 10 to 15 minutes due to the number of vehicles on the roadways and the fast or sometimes long light cycles to get you through an intersection.

We have taken your comments and made a list of the areas in the city you want to avoid at all costs.
