Few entertainers have had careers as long as Jay Leno. Long before he became a household name, Leno was grinding it out as a stand-up comedian, launching his comedy career in 1976 and performing anywhere he could, from small nightclubs to college campuses. That dedication paid off when he got the opportunity to start doing regular appearances on late-night television.

Leno’s big break came when he was selected to succeed Johnny Carson as host of The Tonight Show on NBC. Taking over the iconic show in 1992, Leno went on to host the legendary program for more than two decades across two stints, from 1992–2009 and again from 2010–2014.

During his tenure, The Tonight Show regularly dominated late-night ratings, and Leno became known for his approachable style, political monologues, and ability to connect with audiences of all ages. When he stepped down in 2014, Jimmy Fallon took over hosting duties and continues to lead the show today.

Here is your chance to see a legend right here in Lake Charles this weekend. Jay will be performing at the Golden Nugget's Grand Event Center this Saturday, January 10, 2026. The show begins at 8:00 pm.
