The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office has announced they are going to hold a Jr. Deputy Academy for your kids this summer.

The program is geared toward 11 to 14 year olds and gives kids a chance to learn more about the day-to-day operations of law enforcement and what deputies do in their different jobs.

The program is also geared toward teaching children the importance of their roles as residents of our community by teaching leadership skills and the value of teamwork. It also encourages good moral character, integrity, and strong leadership.

The first of six consecutive Saturday classes will start on June 12 at Moss Bluff Middle School, located at 297 Park Road in Moss Bluff.

Registration will begin at 9:00am and when you arrive with your child, they will hold a mandatory parent meet-and-greet. The Jr. Deputy program will begin at 9:30am.

If you are interested in enrolling your child, download the form here and get it sent in. Due to limited seating, you will need to complete the pre-registration.

For more information, give the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office Security Enforcement division a call between 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, at 337- 990-1312.
