.) Keep The Plane Still! - One of the reasons I don't care to fly is turbulence. I hate it! It reminds me how high off the ground I am and that there is very little I can do if something happens. Hate Turbulence? I've had bad turbulence experiences and now I am shell shot. If it scares the hell of you too...pay attention, cause this info not only blew my mind but changed the way I travel forever.

According to a study by the the National Severe Storms Laboratory early morning flights (before 8am) have less turbulence because it's not as hot as it can get in the afternoons. Heat causes thunderstorms and heavy rains, lightening and wind causes turbulence on planes. Where you aware of this? Not the weather part, but the early morning part. Here's something else, early morning flights are less likely be delayed. The later it gets, the more plans build-up on the tarmac and wind up waiting to take off. So, when things get back up, air traffic control starts delaying flights.

.) USB TV Ports - When flying the worst thing that could happen is your phone or iPad dies. Right. It's time to straight panic cause Netflix, candy crush saga, your playlist, and social media are cut short! Of course, all airports have charging stations, but if it's a busy travel day, getting access to one can be a problem. Keep in mind, you can always use a TV to charge up. Yup! Most TVs today have USB ports on the back or side. So, next time you are in a bind charge up on the nearest flat screen.

.) Hold The Ice - Some folks have heard not to have ice in your drink because the water comes from the plane's water tank. That is actually not true. It is brought on the plane by the Cartier. However, you may want to settle with a room temperature bottle of soda or water because the cart used to bring the ice on board is the problem. A lot of times the ice carts are cleaned too well and the bacteria can make you sick.

.) Turn The Air On - Most people complain about it being too cold on airplanes, but you want it that way. Bring a blanket or jacket with you and make sure you have the air above you open. Why? Because the airflow creates an invisible forcefield around you. Opening the vent and allowing the air to blow on you prevents bacteria and germs that are floating around from settling around you. So, forget what you heard. So you don't catch a cold, the flu, or something else from other passengers don't turn the air vent above you off, turn it on.

.) Bring On The Wipes - Most of the time we get sick because of something we touched. Planes transport thousands of people every week. No matter how clean the carrier and its stewardess keep an airbus, you can be sure they missed a spot. Air vents are among the dirtiest things on a plane. Everyone touches them, all the time. They are full of germs! Bring along plane wipes or a disinfectant wipe of any kind. Even a hand sanitizer will do the trick. Clean your hands after you touch something and especially before you put your hands anywhere near your face.
