
Arrest Made in Hagan Street Shooting
The Lake Charles Police Department responded to the scene of a shooting on Thursday, May 10, at approximately 5:28 p.m., in the 2600 block of Hagan Street. An argument between neighbors resulted in one man and one woman being taken to a local hospital.
After officers arrived, they learned a white male had a gunshot wound to his chest and a white female had superficial wounds to her shoulder and leg, said a media release. The female victim was reportedly treated and released, and the male victim was listed in stable condition.
William Murphree was arrested for aggravated 2nd-degree battery and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. A warrant was issued with a bond of $10,000.
The incident is still under investigation.
