Job seekers in SWLA are urged to come out and participate in the American Job Center Job Fair on Wednesday, Jan. 19. The event will take place at the Lake Charles Civic Center (900 Lakeshore Drive) in the Exhibition Hall from 9:30 a.m.- noon. This is a great chance for all job seekers to meet potential employers in person and explore new career opportunities. There will be employers from all over the area, offering a variety of positions in everything from secretarial, food and beverage, gaming, refinery, automotive, retail, and much more.

As with all job fairs, job seekers need to wear business attire and be prepared to take part in on-the-spot interviews. It is also strongly encouraged that job seekers attend this event with no children and in addition to having a picture ID, bring several copies of a current resume. Pre-registration is not required, but to ensure you can meet with employers face-to-face arrive at the event early.

All U.S. Veterans will enjoy priority access to employers from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Please note the Louisiana Workforce Commission Mobile Workforce Center will be on-site during the job fair. So if you or someone you know needs assistance submitting an online application, writing or printing a resume, help with skills assessments, and more. For more info about the job fair, contact the American Job Center at (337) 721-4010 or email business@lwia51.com.
