A ton of job opportunities, big salaries, highly educated workers, a great school system, a low crime rate, a healthy infrastructure, a great economy, etc. are all qualities most people look for in the in which they live and grow a family. WalletHub has just released their list of the 2021 Most & Least Educated Cities in America. Four Louisiana cities made the list...the bottom of the list.

Louisiana just received its scores on education and it's official, we have the 2nd worst education system in the U.S., the crime rate is on the rise and according to Motortrend.com Louisiana's roads, highways and bridges are some of the worst in America.

A total of 32.7 percent of major urban roads in Louisiana are in poor condition, as are 15.4 percent of interstates and freeways. -Motortrend.com

WalletHub looked at several key elements in the top 150 largest metropolitan areas in the country.

To determine where the most educated Americans are putting their degrees to work, WalletHub compared the 150 largest metropolitan statistical areas, or MSAs, across 11 key metrics. Our data set ranges from the share of adults aged 25 and older with a bachelor’s degree or higher to the quality of the public-school system to the gender education gap. -WalletHub.com

WalletHub grouped New Orleans and Metairie together, listing New Orleans/Metairie #102 on their list of 2021's Most & Least Educated Cities in America. Baton Rouge entered the list at #115, while Shreveport/Bossier City ranked #127. Lafayette was the lowest-ranked Louisiana city on the list coming in at #134.

Ann Arbor, Michigan was the top-ranking U.S. city on the list. Ann Arbor, Mich., was the top-ranked city in the U.S. Visalia, California ranked last at #150.

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
